Other Resources
There are a lot of sites that can provide useful information on things to do outside. Here are a few organizations you may want to check out for additional information:
DORBA (Dallas Off Road Biking Association): This organization does a ton of good for the area, by building and maintaining many of the dirt trails in the area. These trails are built by DORBA, but are are shared with hikers and trail runners. Be good guests when using their trails, and watch out for the bikers. If you use the trails, please consider joining DORBA or volunteering with the on trail days, that is what makes these trails possible! They have an app you can download for trail conditions, and to give directions to the various trails they maintain. They have an active Facebook group, where most of their online discussions are held. DORBA Site

Friends of Northaven Trail: More information about the Northaven Trail can be found here, including fundraising events to raise the dollars needed to continue the expansion efforts. Friends of the Northaven Trail
DFW Urban Wildlife: This is a fun site that i stumbled on when researching Clear Creek Nature Preserve. It’s dedicated to uncovering the wildlife that lives among us in the North Texas area, whether in the city or in the various pockets of nature around us. The guy who runs the site set ups wildlife cameras to capture the amazing diversity of life that exists around us, often unseen! DFW Urban Wildlife
